Boston Massachusetts declare same sex marrage Leagal.
Five years ago march 17,2002 hundreds of same-sex couples lined up at city and town halls across Massachusetts to receive marriage licenses, cheered on by thousands of supporters. Since then, more than 8,000 same-sex couples and their families have become more secure with the protections of marriage. What's more, hundreds of thousands of their friends, neighbors and colleagues have witnessed the beauty and joy of their weddings.
Today, we celebrate five years of marriage equality in Massachusetts. To commemorate this joyous occasion, married gay and lesbian couples will deliver floral bouquets to all 200 Massachusetts legislators on behalf of the MassEquality Education Fund and our colleagues at Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders. The card accompanying the flowers reads: "Two Years. More than 8,000 happy couples."
